Off Grid Home Is Starting To Feel Real

This week at the off-grid build in the Algarve, Portugal, we hit one of those turning points where a concrete shell finally begins to feel like it’s coming together.

The electrical chasing is now done, we’ve started building the secondary interior walls for insulation, dug the trench for the French drains around the solar panel field, and even began the privacy wall at the Quinta.

It’s dusty. It’s heavy work. And it’s not always glamorous — but this is the stage where real progress happens.

Every wall, every trench, every cable run is another step toward finishing this off-grid, powered by solar home, here in southern Portugal.
