Описание: My name is Maren, and I am an aspiring full-time creative. I have a film project with my partner, Jake, called @deathinthegarden , I'm working on a spec screenplay, and I'm currently writing my debut novel trilogy, Fall of Men.

I believe that ART MATTERS - like really, seriously f***ing matters - so I want to document the process of my writing/creative journey to encourage other people to follow their dreams and passions. We need more people who feel emboldened to share their gifts with the world.

My point of view is primarily inspired by the profound sense of alienation and dislocation that I’ve felt my entire life. I believe our society is incredibly sick, and humanity has completely lost the plot as to what kind of creature we are and want to be on this earth. At the same time, I feel a tremendous sense of love and compassion for the human race, and I believe that good storytelling is an incredible way to reconnect people to their complex humanity. I believe that we are surrounded by bad, cheap stories in modernity, and storytellers will be to blame, at least in part, for humanity’s downfall - like it really is that grave. Likewise, the power of stories can turn the tide in a positive direction. Art shapes culture in ways we don’t understand, and it’s imperative that art stops being treated as a commodity or a product, and is instead treated as the profound contribution to society that it really is - for better and for worse. I want to be part of a tide of creators who take this calling of storytelling really f***ing seriously.
