📖 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)
In today’s morning devotion, we open the letter Jeremiah sent to the exiles in Babylon. Far from home, far from the temple, and far from everything familiar, the people of Judah felt displaced and disappointed. This was not the life they had imagined.
Yet Jeremiah 29 delivers a surprising message: build houses, plant gardens, seek the peace of the city, and settle in. Exile was not the end of God’s plan—it was part of it. God had not abandoned them; He was working through their displacement. In the middle of captivity, He promised hope and a future.
The heart of the chapter is found in verse 13: “You will seek Me and find Me.” Not casually. Not partially. But with all your heart. God’s presence is not limited by geography or circumstance. Even in exile, He remains near to those who seek Him wholeheartedly.
Jeremiah 29 teaches us that life may not unfold according to our plans—but God’s purposes are never disrupted. Seasons of waiting, disappointment, or redirection can become sacred spaces of deeper pursuit.
This devotion invites us to trust Him in unfamiliar seasons. When life feels like exile, seek Him fully—and you will find Him faithfully present.
Key Takeaways:
