How To Prepare Your Hair Before Installing Crochet Braids

Step 1. Here's how I detangle:
1.I separated her hair into small to medium sections to have some type of organization to the hair. The section size depends on your hair type and thickness
2. If her hair is really matted and tangled, split those sections into smaller sections. DON'T TRY TO PART THROUGH MATTED OR TANGLED HAIR. JUST GENTLY SEPARATE IT WITH YOUR HANDS.
3.Lightly mist the child's hair with water to loosen it up and make the detangler penetrate easier and the tangles will be easier to remove.
4.If her hair tangles more at the root, squeeze smooth thru detangler on the root of the child hair and work it down to the ends.
5. ALWAYS work in a downward motion
6.ALWAYS start with a big/wide tooth comb when detangling.
7. Once you start to detangle ,ALWAYS start at the ends working your way up to the root.
8. Once you have completely detangled that section of hair twist/braid it to keep the hair from tangling again.

Step 2. Shampoo .Once her hair was completely detangled, I rinsed the detangler out with warm water, but I left the twist in her hair. I used a moisturizing shampoo to wash her hair WITH the Twists in her hair.

Step 3. Deep conditioning. After washing, I used Smooth Thru Detangler as a deep conditioner.I sat he her under a hooded drier for 20 minutes on warm. I rinsed her hair in COOL water and then I blow dried it.

Once her hair was blow dried, I parted her hair and added the Perfect Assist Styling Aid braided it. Her hair is non greasy.

Finally, I added the crochet braids.
