How To- Detangle and Flat Twist 4c Hair

In this video I show you how I detangle, flat twist, and perm rod 4c hair. The first step is to detangle the hair. Here are the steps:


Smooth thru Detangler was used to detanlge her hair.

1.I separated her hair into small to medium sections to have some type of organization to the hair. The section size depends on your hair type and thickness
2. If her hair is really matted and tangled, split those sections into smaller sections. DON'T TRY TO PART THROUGH MATTED OR TANGLED HAIR. JUST GENTLY SEPARATE IT WITH YOUR HANDS.
3.Lightly mist the child's hair with water to loosen it up and make the detangler penetrate easier and the tangles will be easier to remove.
4.If her hair tangles more at the root, squeeze smooth thru detangler on the root of the child hair and work it down to the ends.
5. ALWAYS work in a downward motion
6.ALWAYS start with a big/wide tooth comb when detangling.
7. Once you start to detangle ,ALWAYS start at the ends working your way up to the root.
8. Once you have completely detangled that section of hair twist/braid it to keep the hair from tangling again.

After I detangled her hair, I washed the detangler out with warm water and shampooed her hair with a MOISTURIZING shampoo. I put the SMOOTH THRU DETANGLER back on her hair , covered her hair with a conditioning cap, and sat her under a hooded dryer for 20 minutes on a warm setting.

Once she was done conditioning, I rinsed her hair in COOl water. I blow dried her hair. If you don't like heat of any kind ,don't blow dry your hair, but it makes the process easier for her and I.

It's time to work. I separated her hair into 4 large sections then I used PERFECT ASSIST STYLING AID to flat twist. Once I was finished flat twisting her entire head of hair, I put the loose hair in a ponytail and used PERFECT ASSIST STYLING AID to perm rod the loose hair . I tied her hair own and she went to sleep. The next morning I sat her under a hooded dryer for about 15 minutes to insure she was COMPLETELY dry then I took the rods out, and the rest is history.
