📏 How To Read Your Tape Measure (Body Measurements)
Step 1 — Find the Whole Inch
Look for the big bold number closest to where the tape lands.
👉 Example: If your tape lands just past the 14, you start with 14 inches.
Step 2 — Count the Small Lines After the Inch
Most tape measures have small lines between the inch marks. Each line equals a fraction:
Small Line # Fraction Decimal
1 1/16 0.0625
2 2/16 (or 1/8) 0.125
4 4/16 (or 1/4) 0.25
8 8/16 (or 1/2) 0.5
13 13/16 0.8125
👉 Count how many lines after the whole inch your measurement lands.
Step 3 — Convert to Decimal (Optional, but easier for tracking)
You can write your measurement as a decimal for easy recording:
14 and 13/16 inches = 14.8 inches (rounded)
Step 4 — Record Your Measurement
Body Part Measurement
Chest ____ inches
Waist ____ inches
Arm ____ inches
Thigh ____ inches
Etc ____ inches

✅ Pro Tips:
