Moraine Lake sits at 6,183 feet above sea level in the Valley of the Ten Peaks in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. Like nearby Lake Louise, its water is a blue-green due to the dissolved glacial rock flour(rocks ground up by glaciers) it contains. The view of the mountains behind the lake has been called the Twenty Dollar View, as a picture of the mountain peaks appeared on the reverse side of the 1969 and 1979 issues of the Canadian twenty dollar bill. It is however, a million dollar beautiful view nestled in a pristine, alpine setting.
