Mahashivratri celebrated with religious fervour at Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar

Mahashivratri, locally known as ‘Herath’ is being celebrated with religious fervour all over Kashmir on February 18. On this occasion, Hindus and Kashmiri Pandits paid obeisance at the various temples and offered puja. The biggest gathering was also seen at Shankaracharya Temple which is situated on top of the Shankaracharya Hill in the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar. A large number of devotees visited the temple and prayed for peace and brotherhood in the country. Special langar stalls were also installed by One India Strong India, a cultural organisation for the devotees to provide them with refreshments.
