Today I headed out for an MTB ride on the trails from Sea Otter Australia and used the session to talk through my training plan leading into the Husky Classic Triathlon.
After racing the Wharf to Wharf trail run recently (which ended up being closer to 30km with a lot more sand and elevation than expected), I’ve learnt that my endurance over 3–3.5 hours is in a really good place right now.
So this ride was less about big volume and more about staying consistent, getting some time on the bike, and planning my final training block before taper.
I’ll be doing one more solid push with a long bike and short run off the bike, followed by a faster 10km run, then easing off the volume to arrive at Husky feeling fresh but sharp.
Also… I did come off the bike (only including one of them 😅), but no injuries and all part of the process.
