Описание: A year ago, Boogie Across Borders uploaded its very first video with a clear goal: to share my record collection in a focused way. Each episode alternated between exploring disco’s global influence on traditional music from different countries and tracing disco's evolution in the USA, year by year. Now, 26 episodes and one year later, we bring the first season to a close with the release of Disco 1984-86.

Disco may have had a short yet intense life span, but its impact was felt around the world. Throughout this series, we’ve explored the classic hits of the '70s, witnessed the rise of a cultural phenomenon, and followed its transformation into the underground scene of the '80s. As electronic instruments took center stage in the early '80s, disco's sound evolved, ushering in the era of boogie.

It’s been a fantastic year of digging through my shelves, rediscovering forgotten tunes and selecting music that captures the essence of each year and/or a country, balancing timeless classics with deeper gems. A huge thank you to all the listeners who’ve supported and enjoyed my approach to sharing music. Special shout-out to the selectors who’ve been part of this project and recorded at Disco Towers so far: Audiospanner, JL Aime, Adele, Nav, Dusty Fingers, DonGrizz and Jake Holloway.

Like all music, disco was influenced by another style of music, and in turn, inspired the next wave. In the second year of Boogie Across Borders, we’ll be diving into one of disco’s natural evolutions - House music. From Chicago to New York, Grenoble to Berlin, the roadmap is still forming, but one thing’s certain, we’re going to keep having fun! Disco will always have its place on the channel, and I’m excited to explore new musical racks!
