Ybe Casteleyn (1967) is one of Europe’s most sought-after traumatologists. She had had clients suffering from all sorts of trauma: victims of (child) abuse, of war, of terrorist attacks, accidents and crime. With over more than 25 years of experience she knows how immense the impact of trauma can be, but she also knows that people càn heal from it. Her book: The Healing Power of Pain (Austin Macauley Publishers, London 2024) tells the tales of many forms of trauma: it is an accessible guide, both for the laymen as well as for therapists, psychologists and others, working in the field of mental health. Nowadays, she organizes online trauma courses for her fellow mental health-professionals.
