STORYLINE:
Tourists and locals started to gather at Rio's Copacabana beach on Wednesday to take part in Brazil’s main New Year’s Eve celebration and welcome in 2026.

Millions are expected by Rio’s city hall, which organized three live music stages throughout the famous Copacabana beach, setting the tone for the New Year’s celebration from sunset until the early hours of 2026.

When the clock hits midnight, 19 barges will launch 12 minutes of fireworks across the 2.8 mile coastline.
