Copacabana Beach was the place to be on New Year’s eve as people packed the massive beach and even more massive waves crashed onto the shore.
The darkness of the sky was suddenly filled with a kaleidoscope of colours once midnight struck.
And once it was over only a plume of smoke was all that remained along with the cheers of thousands who had enjoyed the view along the beach.
