Seattle Art Museum's new innovative approach is turning heads

Описание: The Seattle Art Museum has a fresh set of eyes, and hands!

It's new director, Scott Stulen has been selected to take on the role of overseeing operations at the downtown SAM, the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the Seattle waterfront.

Stulen joined "ARC Seattle" co-anchor Tyrah Majors to discuss his approach to increasing the museums engagement, and to talk about current happenings.

Stulen said he’s excited to bring new energy into the role as the museum recovers from the pandemic.

He studied studio art and is the only director of a major museum in the country with that background. He said his approach is a little different as he comes at things from the perspective of a maker as opposed to others, who have the perspective of a historian.

Stulen said he developed his career as being someone making a museum less stuffy and more welcoming, family friendly, fun, and a place you want to hang out with friends and family.
