2026年3月に京都府京都市にある「城南宮」に行きました。


・城南宮

794年の平安京遷都に際し、国常立尊と八千矛神と神功皇后を祀り、以来都の南方に鎮まり国を守護する城南宮と仰がれる。
『平家物語』の舞台でもあり、当時盛んに行われていた、熊野詣での際には、度々上皇方の方除の精進所にあてられ、旅の安全が祈願された。
「方除の大社」城南宮として篤く信仰され、普請・造作・工事・転宅・旅行・交通安全など、方除の神威もあらたかであり全国よりたくさんの参詣者で
賑わっている。
平安時代後期の様式に基いて建築された優美な社殿を取り巻いて広がる庭園「楽水苑」は、離宮時代の築山の遺構とされる春の山、そして平安、室町、
桃山の庭、更には城南離宮のたたずまいを表現した城南離宮の庭から構成され、各時代の日本庭園の粋があつめられている。



・しだれ梅と椿まつり 2026

社殿の西に広がる「春の山」では、150本のしだれ梅がうすべに色や紅白の花を装い、春の訪れを告げます。
「探梅」、「観梅 」、「惜梅 」と移り行くしだれ梅の景色をお楽しみください。

期間：2026年2月18日～3月22日
拝観時間：9時～16時30分（受付　16時終了）
拝観料：大人（中学生以上）1,000円、小学生600円
神苑内での飲食、撮影時の三脚・一脚・脚立・自撮り棒の使用、スケッチはご遠慮ください。
介助犬や盲導犬を除き、犬やペットが手水舎の手前より中の神域に入ること（キャリー・抱っこを含む）を禁じています。




I'd like to introduce some places I happened to visit.
In March 2026, I visited Jonan-gu Shrine in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

・Jonan-gu Shrine

When the capital was moved to Heian-kyo in 794, Kunitokotachi-no-Mikoto, Yachihoko-no-Kami, and Empress Jingu were enshrined here. Since then, Jonan-gu Shrine, located south of the capital, has been revered as the guardian of the country.
It is also the setting for "The Tale of the Heike," and during the popular pilgrimage to Kumano at the time, Jonan-gu Shrine was often used as a place of devotion for the retired emperor's protection and prayers for safe travels were offered.
Jonan-gu Shrine is devoutly revered as the "great shrine of protection," and its divine power to protect against danger is revered for its many uses in construction, building work, relocations, travel, and traffic safety. It is bustling with pilgrims from all over the country.
The elegant shrine, built in the style of the late Heian period, is surrounded by the Rakusuien garden, which combines the best of Japanese gardens from each era. The gardens are comprised of Haru no Yama, a remnant of an artificial hill from the Imperial Villa era, as well as gardens from the Heian, Muromachi, and Momoyama periods, and even the Jonan Imperial Villa garden, which evokes the atmosphere of the former site.

・Weeping Plum and Camellia Festival 2026

In Haru no Yama, spreading west of the shrine, 150 weeping plum trees are adorned with pale blue and red-and-white blossoms, heralding the arrival of spring. Enjoy the ever-changing scenery of the weeping plum trees, with activities including "Searching for the Plum Blossoms," "Viewing the Plum Blossoms," and "Regretting the Plum Blossoms."

Period: February 18–March 22, 2026
Visiting Hours: 9:00–16:30 (Registration closes at 16:00)
Admission Fee: ¥1,000 for adults (middle school students and older), ¥600 for elementary school students
Please refrain from eating and drinking within the shrine grounds, using tripods, monopods, stepladders, or selfie sticks, or sketching.
With the exception of service dogs and guide dogs, dogs and pets (including those in carriers or on their arms) are prohibited from entering the sanctuary beyond the chozuya (purification fountain).
