Lets begin October by trying out the KBI SA85m at the range. Many people replace the thumbhole stock with a more military configuration with pistol grip, but how is it to shoot this AK as-imported from Hungary? Furthermore, really which is more ergonomic and comfortable; The ban compliant hard wood buttstock or the original milspec stamped steel underfolder?
The Kassner SA 85m was imported before the 1989 Bush ban, and this one is based on the Hungarian military's AK-63D.
The KBI SA 85m was based on the AK-63F and imported between 1990 and 1998. It was replaced by the single-stack magwell KBI FEG SA 2000m, after Clinton added to what Bush started a decade earlier.
