Описание: Sitiaka Kalitsounia are some of the most famous and beloved sweets on the island of Crete in Easter time. It is impossible to come to Crete and not try kalitsounia. It is the perfect Easter dessert and you find them everywhere.

Their fame has traveled far beyond the geographical boundaries of Crete and even Greece.

In this episode you will see the Sitiaka kalitsounia, which have their place of origin in Sitia, and their own method of preparation.

The preparation of the traditional kalitsouni still constitutes a whole ritual during the days of the Holy Week, however due to fasting the kalitsouni are not eaten until the Resurrection table, however their preparation needs at least three days.
