Описание: Whispering Pines Cemetery in Bastrop, Louisiana, is one of the area’s first Black privately owned cemeteries and is being restored after more than 60 years of neglect. Founded in 1962 when Black families had limited burial options, the 2.3-acre site holds generations of teachers, veterans, and community members. Since 2024, a local nonprofit has led cleanup efforts to clear land, identify graves, and restore dignity to those buried there.
