Carnaval Festival indoor dark ride, designed by Joop Geesink and manufactured by Mack Rides, has been entertaining families since 1984.

Travel alongside Jokie & Jet, Efteling's red-nosed explorers, as they take you through nine regions filled with joyful animatronic scenes, catchy music, and cultural fun from across the globe. From the canals of Venice to the snowy Arctic, this family dark ride brings people and cultures together through humour and celebration.

Carnaval Festival features over 100 individual cars that glide along a 240-metre track, taking you through the Netherlands, France, the UK, Japan, China, the Arctic, Africa, Germany, Mexico, and more, all set to a looping, iconic soundtrack originally created by Toon Hermans and Ruud Bos.

Each Carnaval Festival region offers playful interpretations of cultural icons such as geishas, tulips, sumo wrestlers, can-can dancers, and penguins that all appear in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. The ride's humorous and exaggerated style was inspired by Disney's It's a Small World but brings its own unique Efteling perspective and energy.

Originally opened in 1984, Carnaval Festival was a bold departure from Efteling's traditional fairytale style, but it quickly became a fan favourite. It underwent a major refurbishment in 2019, with upgraded lighting, repainted scenes, and redesigned sections for Japan, China, and Africa. Today, it remains one of Efteling's most beloved attractions for all ages, with an easy-going pace, music that changes with each scene, and the cheerful faces of Jokie & Jet leading the way.

Efteling Theme Park Resort, located in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands, has been delighting guests since 1952 with its blend of fairy tales, folklore, and imaginative rides. Popular attractions like Droomvlucht, Symbolica, and Fata Morgana continue to enchant visitors, while new rides like Dance Macabre, which opened in 2024, add thrilling new chapters to the park's history. Looking ahead, Efteling will introduce a free fall tower themed to Baron 1898 in 2026, expanding the adventure even further.

Guests can extend the magic by staying overnight at one of Efteling's themed resorts. Choose from Loonsche Land nestled in nature, the fairytale Efteling Hotel, the charming woodland homes at Efteling Bosrijk, or look forward to the brand-new Grand Hotel Efteling and the reimagined Efteling Wonder Hotel.
