Designed by Ton van de Ven and opened in 1993, Droomvlucht, Dreamflight in English, takes visitors on a magical suspended journey through enchanting worlds filled with fairies, elves, unicorns, trolls, and mystical forests.

Built by Translift, Droomvlucht dark ride carries guests in suspended cabins through a stunning dream world filled with intricate scenery, soothing music, and breathtaking visual storytelling.

Droomvlucht transports riders through five beautifully detailed realms: the Castle Realm, the Wondrous Forest, the Fairy Garden, the Heavenly Strongholds, and the Squelch Forest.

Each scene in Droomvlucht reveals a different part of the dream world, from glowing castles floating against twilight skies, to unicorns in sparkling forests, to playful trolls and the magnificent floating cities in the starlit Heavenly Strongholds.

The climax of the Droomvlucht ride is a thrilling spiral descent through the rain-soaked Squelch Forest, where visitors plunge 13 meters downward in a breathtaking finale. Throughout the Droomvlucht ride, a stunning musical score composed by Ruud Bos enhances the dreamlike atmosphere.

Originally planned to celebrate Efteling's 40th anniversary in 1992, Droomvlucht was delayed by technical challenges with the ride system and officially opened in 1993. Despite the extra year and added construction costs, the ride was an instant success and remains one of the most popular attractions at the park. Droomvlucht was a major step in Efteling's evolution, blending traditional storytelling with a more expansive and imaginative fantasy world.

To make the magic accessible to everyone, Efteling also offers Virtual Droomvlucht for guests with facility cards. Using virtual reality, synchronized scents, sounds, and wind effects, visitors who are unable to board the moving cabins can still enjoy the full dream experience alongside their friends and family.

Efteling Theme Park Resort, located in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands, has welcomed visitors into a World of Wonders since 1952. Known for attractions like Droomvlucht, Fata Morgana, and Symbolica, Efteling continues to grow with recent additions like the haunted Dance Macabre attraction, which opened in 2024.
