What a great decision to head in and watch this unique Desert Race, held in the heart of Oz! We arrived into Alice, late Thursday afternoon, just enough time to setup before heading down to Todd Mall to watch the street party. 🎉

On Friday we caught up on some errands before the Scrutineering event in the evening. Was so good to see all the buggies and bikes lined up for public browsing 👀. What wasn't cool was the $15 per person entry to the event - a little steep for what it was (we thought).

Saturday morning we watched some prologue laps from the fence line,🏁 before moving camps to be closer to our mates Roving Russo's. Within minutes of pulling up Chaos In A Tin Can joined the camp too! We all walked to the track and watched the races over the two days. Finishing off each epic day with a gnarley campfire and beers.🍻

⭐️Fun Facts;

The Finke Desert Race has the reputation of being one of the most difficult offroad courses, in one of the most remote places in the world. 🌏

It is an off-road, multi terrain two-day race for bikes, cars, buggies and quads through desert country from Alice Springs to the small desert community of Finke. 🏜

This year over 130 registered buggies🏎 raced, but only 67 successfully finished the race (made it to Finke & back)

With 600 registered bikes🏍 this year, only 469 also successfully finished the race

Toby Price took out his sixth 'King of the Desert' title for the bikes. 👑

Each winner only gets $10k, which is quite small, considering how much money is spent on each rig 😳

This year marked the 43rd Finke Desert race.
