I had been watching this storm on radar since it was moving along the Missouri/Iowa border, and it exploded while it was in Illinois. The HRRR forecast model showed it dying as soon as it reached central Indiana and it weakened a bit before arriving, but it still packed a punch and I'm glad I got to experience it. If only I could've been in central/eastern Illinois.
Also, this just happened to be on the 11th anniversary of the 2012 derecho. I thought that was kind of weird.
