This video teaches the concepts of hardware scrolling on the Amiga. We start by scrolling through an oversized image and then go on to do the same using level maps created with the amazing level editor Tiled by Thorbjørn Lindeijer.

The utility "ratr0-converttiled" that I use in this tutorial to convert Tiled level data into Amiga compatible level data is part of the ratr0-utils suite I made for use in my own games and this programming course. Feel free to use it as is or as reference for your own projects.

And you can install the tools using pip (Python 3 only) with
$ pip install ratr0-utils
If you already use an earlier version, please make sure you are using the latest version of the utilities (at the time of this video that is 0.1.6)
$ pip install --upgrade ratr0-utils
