Two evenings. One vision.

After first attempting this shot in September 2023, I returned to Seaford Beach in March 2025 with a refined plan: to capture the sun perfectly aligned behind Newhaven Lighthouse at sunset.

This video documents both evenings:

March 4: A calm, high-pressure evening with soft haze and a glassy sea. Clean silhouettes. Near-perfect alignment.
March 5: A completely different mood. Thick sea fog rolling in from the channel, obscuring everything—until, moments before sunset, the lighthouse emerged, backlit in deep red haze.
Same lens, same setup, same plan—two very different results.

This is what landscape photography is about: planning, returning, adapting… and sometimes just watching nature do its thing.
