In June, I explored one of Meghalaya’s hidden gems – Pung Lyer Falls, home to a breathtaking Natural Swimming Pool that’s still untouched and unknown to most travelers. This was part of my Weekend 12 travel series, and the adventure was unforgettable.
The journey wasn’t easy – we weren’t prepared for the sudden rains, got completely drenched, and the cold made it feel nothing like summer. The roads were covered in thick fog, we lost our way, and even got stuck due to a landslide. But somehow, we managed to reach the falls.
After parking our bikes, we hired a local guide and went on a short trek through nature. The view that welcomed us was absolutely magical – a place so pure, so beautiful, that it felt like stepping into another world.
We spent some amazing time at the falls before heading to the famous Seven Sisters Waterfall, and finally returned late at night.
