Tor des Géants - Alta Via 1 & 2 - Val d'Aosta - 365 km among Giants

Описание: The Val d'Aosta circuit combines the Alta Via 1 and 2 to what then forms the basis of one of the toughest endurance races out there: the Tor des Géants - the Tour of Giants. 25 passes with 79.000ft (24.000m) of positive elevation change (and the same downhill) and a slightly shortend 330 km are to be overcome within the cut off time of 150 hours (6 days and 6 hours).
I'm not built like any of these nimble mountain goats who are racing up and down the mountains. Plus I carried a 30 pound backpack on the extended trail (365km with even more elevation change). It took me 222 hours (9 days and 6 hours) to complete that track (usually is divided into 28-31 stages) walking long days but not through the nights as the athletes do.
Because of the challenge I knew lay ahead I did not burden myself with proper video equipment and the drone. But looking back it would have been well worth it. The Gopro and Phone images I now have are meager and do not do justice to the grandor of the place. Plus I had an incredible 10 day stretch of fair weather (2 storms in 2 nights was all that passed through). All that said and for what it is worth I slapped all my footage together to share and at least retain some memories of this amazing trail experience.
