Описание: You mentioned that your baby's umbilical cord just fell off and you want to know if you need to do anything about it and if you can give your baby a bath. In most situations a baby's umbilical cord will dry out and fall off within the first two weeks of life. It's important to not submerge your baby and give them the fun, first sink bath or tub bath until it's dried out. Of course, if it needs to dry out it shouldn't get wet. Some doctors recommend that you use rubbing alcohol to swab around your baby's umbilical cord to make it dry out faster and others say just leave it alone. You should always check with your pediatrician to see what advice they have for your baby. Now that your baby's umbilical cord is off though you're okay to give your baby a bath. Just watch for signs of complications like if there is any bleeding, oozing, or redness, or your baby seems to act like that area is tender, like you change their diaper and bump it and they wince or start to cry, then it would be best to let your pediatrician know about those types of things.
