🇬🇧I have often been asked to make video tutorials of very buoyant caddisflies to fish areas with relatively strong currents, as i have, to test the efficiency of the flies that I present to you regularly, preferred areas the calmest, where the fish have more time to see the fly and therefore are a more selective...
If the currents are irregular and bubbling such as mountain torrents, it is better to avoid materials such as CDC which have difficulty in drying once wet, and prefer rooster hackles with a higher floatation and "dry" afterwards one or two fake casts...
The pattern presented here will float very well in currents from large pools (even if they are fast) and will remain effective in the calms , thanks to its very low buoyancy, lying flattened on the water, it shows a beautiful footprint on the film, characteristic of caddisflies with wings "in a triangle" ...As you will have noticed, it is free of specific materials to represent the abdomen or the thorax, these being "simulated" by the CDC and Dear ear hair windings, and thus lighter...

🇫🇷 Il m'a été souvent demandé de faire des tutoriels video de sedges très flottants ,pour pêcher les zones à courants relativement forts, car il est vrai que pour tester l'efficacité des mouches que je vous présente régulièrement, j'ai privilégié les zones les plus calmes ,ou les poissons ont plus le temps de voir la mouche et donc sont à priori plus sélectifs...
Si les courants sont irréguliers et bouillonnants type torrents de montagne ,il vaut mieux éviter les matériaux comme le CDC qui ont du mal à s'éssorer et sécher une fois mouillés, et préférer les hackle de coq à flottaison plus haute et "sec" après un ou deux faux lancer...
Le modèle présenté ici va tres bien flotter sur les débuts de courants de gros pools (meme s'ils sont rapides) et restera efficace dans les parties plus calmes et lisses , ou, grace à sa flottaison très basse, plaqué sur l'eau, il présente aux poissons une belle empreinte sur le film, caractéristique des sedges aux ailes déployées "en triangle" ...
Vous l'aurez remarqué, il est exempt de matériaux spécifiques pour représenter l'abdomen ou le thorax ,ceux ci étant "simulés" par les enroulements de CDC et d'ORC , et évitent ainsi de l'alourdir ...
