In celebration of the 45-year history of the Children's Tumor Foundation, we met with three CTF pioneers: Foundation co-founder Allan Rubenstein, MD, CTF Board member and NF1 patient Ken Rudd, and CTF President Annette Bakker, PhD. In this video, which was first presented at the 2023 National Gala on Nov. 13, 2023, each reflects on the past, present, and future of the Foundation's efforts to end NF.
Forty-five years ago, a passionate and visionary team came together with a mission: to end NF. This dedicated group gave rise to what we proudly call the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF), a beacon of progress for NF patients. CTF has steered the trajectory of NF clinical care and research toward astounding advancement, including the first FDA-approved NF treatment, with more on the horizon. This progress is a testament to CTF’s early trailblazers’ enduring spirit and perseverance.
Today, CTF is a highly recognized global nonprofit foundation, the leading force in the fight to end NF, and a model for other innovative research endeavors.
