The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has added a “third gender/transgender” option in the online application form for the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Examination-2025, making the recruitment process more inclusive for transgender candidates across the state.

Under the new format, third gender or transgender applicants must upload their identity certificate/card issued by the competent authority, along with supporting documents in cases of name change after attaining transgender status, to successfully complete their application.

The move follows earlier recommendations by the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) to ensure that transgender persons receive equal opportunity and are not discriminated against in public service examinations. Authorities have also extended the registration and application deadline to give affected candidates adequate time to apply under the updated system.
