It can be obvious, your running shoes might have bits dangling off them, that’s easy, put them in the bin! In actual fact, you should have done that long ago. When shoes still look ok at first glance that’s the difficulty, you need to take a closer look and put them through their paces.

There’s a lot of science that goes into designing and making running shoes, as my guest on today's video knows all too well. Heather gave David Jewell, an expert in the industry, a call earlier to pick his brains on how shoes wear out and what as runners we need to look out for.
