Today I have a wonderful plum cake with crumble. Baked so simply and lovingly, and without yeast! This cake brings back childhood memories... and they start with the baking. This cake is so harmonious! The cake is made with a wonderful sponge mixture. It's fluffy and very flavorful. The crumble is reminiscent of the good old days and goes perfectly with the plums. For me personally, this is one of the best plum cake recipes. I hope you enjoy this wonderful cake made with Grandma's recipe:

Grandma's Plum Cake / Plum Cake with Crumble Topping
Ingredients for a 26 cm springform pan
Preparation time: approx. 20 minutes
Baking time: approx. 65 minutes
Oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit)
For the springform pan:
Butter for greasing
Breadcrumbs for dusting
For the crumb topping:
100 g flour
75 g sugar
1/2 sachet vanilla sugar
75 g cold butter
For the batter:
200 g flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
125 g very soft butter
140 g powdered sugar
1/2 sachet vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
3 medium eggs
approx. 60 ml lukewarm milk
For the topping:
750 g plums pitted and halved
Sugar as needed
Powdered sugar as needed
