"Corrosion test rig" equipment for flow assisted corrosion study

Описание: A closed loop corrosion test rig is developed as equipment to study the electrochemical and corrosion behavior of any materials under flow simulated media with controlled dissolved oxygen and different flow rate at a constant temperature. This study is required for the pipeline material evaluation specifically dealing with oil and marine water as flow-assisted corrosion is a critical factor in material selection. In addition, academic researchers can use this equipment for flow-assisted corrosion studies under different conditions. This is a unique piece of equipment indigenously designed by CSIR-NML. This equipment is quite affordable and one can study flow-assisted corrosion of different materials at the required flow rate and oxygen level in the range of 50-5000ppb. Equipment has the facility to control dissolved oxygen, flow rate, and temperature of the media during the experiment. Equipment is attached with two types of test rigs for metallic coupon exposure as well as electrochemical studies using online potentiostat under flow conditions. In India, no equipment is available to study the flow-assisted corrosion of materials. Even imported equipment is rare at an affordable cost. The present technology is ready for commercialization by any equipment manufacturer. CSIR-NML can provide complete equipment design and performance demonstration. As it is new equipment so NML will help the license in design modification and discussion as per customer needs.
