CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, New Delhi, India. It was established in 1950 with a vision to cater to the needs in the area of Minerals, Metals, and Materials industries of India. Since its inception, CSIR- NML has diversified its research areas ranging from extractive metallurgy, alloy development and import substitution, refractory material development, corrosion studies, mathematical and physical modeling of metallurgical processes, mineral research, advanced materials, and materials tailoring, integrity evaluation of critical industrial components, surface engineering and cleaner and sustainable metals production. Our Vision Statement---“To become a global leader and an internationally benchmarked laboratory in mineral and metallurgical research and development. To become a self-sustained technology center in minerals, metals, and materials.”
