Children at #AlawPrimary #School in #Rhondda have been learning about 1920s Wales and America as part of WCIA's '#PeaceSchools Scheme' - and have been inspired by the story of Annie Hughes Griffiths, who led the Welsh Women's #Peace #Petition to America in 1924.
For #IWD2020 #InternationalWomensDay on March 8, WCIA are celebrating the incredible story of the Peace Petition - signed by 390,296 women - as well as the story behind this amazing women's peace #movement, explored through "Annie's Diary," in which she recorded the experience of leading a 2 month tour of America 1924 - where they presented Wales' "Appeal for Peace" to the women of America, and the #President of the #UnitedStates.
