🔹 Mean
‘을/를‘ is the object marker in Korean grammar.
It marks the direct object of a verb — the thing that receives the action.
🔹 Forms (을 vs. 를)
을 (eul): after a noun ending in a consonant → ‘책’ +을
를 (reul): after a noun ending in a vowel → ‘사과’ +를
🔹 Function
밥을 먹어요. → I eat rice. → The object of the action "to eat" = 밥 (rice)
친구를 만나요. → I meet a friend. → The object of the action "to meet" = 친구 (friend)
한국어를 공부해요. → I study Korean. → The object of the action "to study" = 한국어 (Korean)
🔹Characteristics
It is a particle (조사), always attached to a noun.
Often omitted in spoken Korean, especially when the meaning is clear from context.
Example: 밥 먹었어? → literally “(Did you) eat rice/food?” (밥을 is shortened).
