Fermented whaaaa?
“Kakishibu” or fermented persimmon was previously used in Japan to waterproof fishermen’s clothing, paper umbrellas, washi paper and even homes. Nowadays it gives a really cool color to clothing that darkens over time. Very different from typical indigo dyed Japanese Denim that fades over time.
The ones in the video are the Studio D’Artisan “Kaki”-Kyoku selvedge jeans (Regular Straight Fit)
I got my pair from @okayamadenim ! Be sure to swing by their shop if you’re in Tokyo or their online shop!
