This is one of the easiest and most underappreciated hikes in Metro Vancouver. The Crystal Falls hike in Coquitlam, BC is a easy 6 km hike that takes you up along the Coquitlam River until you ultimately reach the waterfall.
For a long time I was never exactly sure where the Crystal Falls trail head started so hopefully you find this video helpful. It's actually a very accessible hike you can get to from public transportation. Take the skytain into Coquitlam, BC to Lafarge Lake/Douglas, walk through Town Centre Park, up one block to Shaughnessy Street and you can't miss the start of the trail.
This is a awesome trail to bring the family, mountain bikes or dogs and enjoy a stroll through the forest while still in the city.
