Hey fit friends! This is a quick version of the Cardio & Core format at NIFS. Please keep in mind the following tips during your workout.
~LOWER BODY TRACK TIPS~
✅ Lunge forward, weight is in the front leg. Feel your glute activating as you lunge down and press up.
✅ Raise the knee, shift your weight towards the back leg. We are keeping our hands at “table top” under the breast bone. Use your abs to raise that knee and tap the hands!
✅ When we do “skiers,” focus on traversing horizontally. Plant the foot perpendicular to the spine, then press off again.
~KICKBOXING TRACK(S) TIPS~
✅ When we punch, keep the abs tight. Use your core during crossbody punches to keep your hips facing in the original direction. If you aren’t using your abs, your hips will follow your arms! Keep the hips static.
✅ When we kick, we are really using our abs and back leg. Shift the weight to the back leg, explode up, and use your abs to raise the knee in a swift motion.
~CORE TRACK TIPS~
✅ Keep the hips parallel to the floor at all times! Avoid twisting and turning.
✅ Focusing on an imaginary string pulling up through the navel and to the ceiling.
