Dr. Colette Smart, R. Psych., is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Victoria. She is also the Research Scholar in Residence for Mental Health and Substance Use at Island Health, the health authority for Vancouver Island, BC. Her mandate is to generate new research and provide education on evidence-based practices for the care of persons with complex PTSD.

Her current research brings a neuropsychological lens to trauma, using a brain-based approach to understanding the impact of trauma as well as therapies and strategies to promote recovery.
