Chamorro Recipes | ALAGUAN Coconut Rice | Guam Food

Описание: Guam's Chamorro savory alaguan coconut rice porridge recipe is an excellent, flavorful way to make great use of leftover rice. Traditionally, this alȧguan Guam food is rice that is boiled in water then flavored with coconut milk, and salt or sugar. This is a kicked-up version of the Chamorro's savory alȧguan because I wanted to make it a hearty meal topped with Chamorro sausage and some greens. You may also boil raw rice, but you'll need to adjust the amount of water or stock you use.

INGREDIENTS
Set 1
2 tablespoons or about 30 milliliters lard or coconut oil
¼ cup or 8 grams diced onions
5 cloves garlic, minced

Set 2
4 to 5 cups chicken broth, or about 1 to 1.2 liters
1 ½ cups or 293 grams leftover, cooked rice

Set 3
½ cup or 118 milliliters thick coconut milk

Set 4
1 ½ teaspoons or 1.75 grams salt
½ teaspoon or 0.6 grams black pepper

Tools: medium pot, rubber spatula
