President Marcos was hospitalized overnight for medical observation. This was disclosed by Palace Press Officer Claire Castro. She says the President was experiencing “discomfort.” However, Castro says Marcos has since returned to the Palace and was advised by his doctors to rest. According to Castro, the President will carry out his responsibilities while under medical observation. The Chief Executive skipped the Ten Outstanding Young Men awarding ceremony earlier in the day. He was represented by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

A second impeachment complaint has been filed against President Marcos at the House of Representatives. The complainants were led by Bagong Alyansang Makabayan or BAYAN. It was endorsed by the Makabayan Bloc. In their complaint, BAYAN accused Marcos of betrayal of public trust due to his non-veto of the unprogrammed appropriations in the 2026 budget. The Office of the House Secretary General did not accept the complaint. They say the only one who is authorized to receive the complaint is House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil, who is currently abroad.

The low pressure area (LPA) off northeastern Mindanao could still intensify into a tropical depression. PAGASA says the LPA could also enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Meanwhile, according to the weather bureau, the northeast monsoon locally known as ‘Amihan’ is the prevailing weather system in most areas of the country including Metro Manila and Luzon.
Journalist Frenchie Cumpio was found guilty of terror financing. The 26-year-old Cumpio and former roommate Marielle Domequil were sentenced to 12 to 18 years in prison by a Tacloban Regional Court. They were arrested in February 2020, accused of possessing a handgun and a grenade. More than a year later, a charge of terror financing was added. Cumpio’s lawyer said his team would file an appeal.

Tony and Olivier Award-winning performer Lea Salonga has confirmed that she and her husband have separated. She says the separation has been in place for some time. According to Salonga, she and her husband – American businessman Robert Charles Chien – remain on good terms. Salonga did not provide further details about the separation. But she emphasized that mutual respect and support remain central to their relationship as parents. The couple, who married in 2004, share a 19-year-old son, Nic – an actor and singer.
