Instant Tomato Rasam without Rasam powder Light,Comforting,So Good!
Instant Tomato Rasam (Without Rasam Powder)
Ingredients:
Tomatoes
Green chilies (2–4)
Garlic
Ginger
Cumin seeds
Coriander seeds
Peppercorns
Salt
Turmeric
Curry leaves
Cilantro (coriander leaves)
Water
Oil
Dry red chili
Mustard seeds
Fenugreek seeds
Pinch of sugar
Method:
1. In a mortar & pestle or blender, grind garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and peppercorns into a coarse paste.
2. In a pressure cooker, add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, the ground paste, salt, turmeric, curry leaves, cilantro, and enough water.
3. Close the lid and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Let the pressure release naturally (NPR).
4. Open the cooker and mash everything well. Add more water if needed.
5. For tempering, heat oil in a small pan. Add dry red chili, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
6. Strain the rasam to remove the pulp and add the filtered liquid back to the cooker.
7. Bring it to a gentle boil. Add extra chopped cilantro, adjust salt, and add a pinch of sugar. Let it boil 2–3 times and turn off the flame.
Hot, flavorful Tomato Rasam is ready to enjoy
