Synopsis
In the Shaanxi region, the folk custom still prevails where paternal aunts make three pairs of tiger-head shoes in different colors for their nephews. This is exactly the custom depicted in Little Tiger-Head Shoes. Written in a catchy and rhythmic ballad style, the book narrates the wonderful events that happen after little Huzi puts on the tiger-head shoes handmade by his aunt. The author lets imagination run wild—scenes of Jingwei filling the sea, cranes paying homage to birthday celebrants, and the Monkey King all unfold one after another. Blending reality with dreams, the book presents a vivid, innocent, and dreamlike world of childhood."
