In this video, you will learn an important advanced grammar concept used in competitive exams and formal English — Inversion with Adverbs of Place.
When an adverb of place comes at the beginning of a sentence, the word order changes. Instead of the normal structure, the sentence follows an inverted structure.
🔹 Structure:
Helping Verb + Main Verb + Subject
📌 Examples explained in this video:
• Here comes the bus.
• There stands the old tree.
In these sentences, “Here” and “There” are adverbs of place, and because they come at the beginning, the verb appears before the subject.
