Approach and landing on runway 9 at Key West International Airport (KEYW/EYW), Florida Keys, USA. Single engine Mooney M20 F view from the cockpit. Produced in 4k. With ATC audio.
Approaching from the east, along the Florida Keys, this approach followed the shoreline. A few minutes before landing, we passed the big airport of the Key West Naval Air Station. Before we entered a right hand downwind for landing at the much smaller civil airfield, close to the city of Key West.
We flew a visual approach which was assisted by the Garmin GTN 750 visual approach function, giving us guidance to landing on our Aspen PFD like an ILS (Instrument Landing System).
Key West International Airport saw the first scheduled flights in 1928. It provides now runway 9/27 with a length of about 5100 feet or 1550 meters. Most of the US airlines provide service to the Southernmost city in the USA.
