#3. Must-have versus optional spending
We all tend to do a lot of optional spending, & this can be a pitfall. So it’s important we separate our monthly expenses into what’s a must and what’s optional. For example: Eating out sounds great but it’s an option, so let's skip that and eat a meal from home which is more inexpensive and healthy.
#4. Open a Separate Savings Account
Chances are, if you don’t see your money, you’re not going to spend it. The trick here will be - to not get a debit card for this account. Each month, when you are working on your must haves versus optional spending list—put some money into this account.
