In a historic BMC election outcome, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a commanding victory with 89 seats and, along with ally Shiv Sena (Shinde) on 29 seats, is set to install its first mayor in Mumbai. The Shiv Sena (UBT) won 65 seats, while MNS claimed six. Congress (with Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi) took 24 seats, AIMIM eight, NCP three, Samajwadi Party two and NCP (SP) one, signaling a major shift in the city’s civic power dynamics.
