This Hand Pressing Breath Exercise is a technique I must credit to my mentor and teacher, Dr. Chadha. If you are currently working with me, or you are attending one of my courses, chances are I have asked you to use this technique.
For those struggling with stress or anxiety, I often use this Hand Pressing Exercise before I would start to help you develop your meditation practice. Meditation whilst struggling with anxiety or stress may not be the right path for you. Therefore this exercise for 2 - 3 weeks before starting your practice may be my preferred route.

It is essential to carry out the training at the same time each day (ideally first thing in the morning). You can practice it in sets of three. So do three of the breaths and then stop for a couple of minutes and then practice another set of three.
As someone who recovered from the severe trauma of losing my son, I know the importance of finding some ease within the body. I witnessed Joshua's last breaths and this image aroused PTSD and severe anxiety and depression.
Accessing the Vagus Nerve and Polyvagal Theory was critical in my recovery. It allowed me the capacity to find a little ease whilst in tandem I built a meditation practice and sought therapy.
