Red-Tail's Flight:
RTF is a rather small flying coaster. It's a ride with a short layout, but it's packed with a bunch of surprise elements. You exit the station laying on your back. The track then folds right over the station, and you ascend the lift hill in the flying position, with the track above you. After climbing a 104' lift, you're dropped about halfway down, turning to the right. The train goes up a slight hill, then into a pretzel loop. After dropping back down, you're brought into a special kind of helix, where at the crest of helix, you're brought from a flying position to a laydown position. After exiting the helix, the train goes through another twist, back into the flying position, but only for a brief moment. The final element is a downward half-loop back into the laydown position, similar to the Stingray coaster at the now defunct Ferris Wheel Park in China. Magnetic brakes run down the entire half-loop element, then the train enters the main brake run, thus ending the short, but snappy ride.
The Idea:
This coaster was created with the thought of it operating at Six Flags New England in Agawam, MA. It would be placed in the area where Goliath use to operate. Imagine that... replacing a Vekoma coaster with another Vekoma coaster! The land where Goliath operated on is a small area, and trying to figure out an interesting concept for this ride was kind of a challenge. But nonetheless, the idea eventually came together! I also imagine the ground views from anywhere around the ride would be impressive.
Because the ride would be in the Crackaxle Canyon section of the park, and I like to keep to a theme, Red-Tail's Flight was a fitting name for this flyer. Obviously in reference to the red-tail hawk, the bird of prey is pretty much found everywhere in the continental US, including the wild west.

NOTE - 16 August 2024: Well, SFNE didn't use my idea for a new coaster and instead went with a double-launched family coaster (Quantum Accelerator, announced a couple days ago). Still, it's nice to see that big open plot of land in the middle of the park get some use again since 2019.
